Follow our Journey to Turkey
View Our Trip to Turkey in a larger map
October 8th. We are now moored at Marmaris Yacht Marina in Turkey and are getting LONE STAR ready for her stay on dry land. She will be pulled out of the water on October 14th.
October 2. We motored for 25 miles today and Med moored in Kos Harbor. Looks like another cute Greek town and we plan to spend three or four days here.
October 1. We had a 50 mile motor sail that was mostly a beam reach. Arrived at the marina around 3:30 in the afternoon and found they actually had boat boys to help us dock and lazy lines for securing the bow. They also charged a fee of 32 euros for the night. Still a big difference from Italy.
September 30th. We are Med moored on the quay in the city of Katapola on the island of Amorgos. Visited a fantastic monastery built on the side of a mountain.
The Lonely Planet guide to Greece says it is one of the top ten places to visit in Europe. We agree. It was worth the walk up the winding trail dug into the side of the mountain. One of the pictures gives a good view looking down from the monastery.
September 25th. We are now in Paros which is a relatively large island in the Middle Cyclades. We are tied to the quay at a very nice town marina using lazy lines (no setting the anchor to tie to the quay) and the mooring fee is ZERO and it has FREE WiFi. We are starting to wonder why we spent so much time in the Med when Greece was just to the east waiting on us.
